Our origin

Where it all began

Our journey started with a simple but powerful realisation. In a city of 16 million people, talented Deaf artists were being overlooked, their skills ignored simply because they communicated differently.

Our founder, Smriti, understood this gap intimately. Having grown up with Deaf siblings and worked as a sign language news anchor, she saw firsthand that the issue was not a lack of talent, but a lack of opportunity. A chance meeting with a Deaf artist in a local market confirmed what she already knew: incredible potential was going to waste. At just 23, she decided to change that.

Our evolution

Growing with purpose

What started as an initiative to bridge a gap has evolved into a fully independent lifestyle brand. Today, Atulyakala is proud to be India's first Deaf-run fashion house.

We are not just inclusive by policy; we are inclusive by design. Our team is 90% Deaf, and Indian Sign Language is our primary mode of communication. From the creative direction to sales and operations, the brand is managed by Deaf professionals who are leaders in their field.

Our mission

What drives us forward

Our goal is to make India more inclusive for its 18 million Deaf citizens by proving that barriers can be broken through excellence. When you see our work, you don't just see a product. You see a standard being set.

We dream big. We create with pride. And we invite you to join us.
